ROLE: ELECTRONICS DESIGN TECHNICIAN
DESCRIPTION
BRDG is looking for an Electronics Design Technician with strong skills and a passion for bridging physical design and digital experiences to join our Hardware team. The Technician sits in the Creative Technology department, reporting to the Hardware Director, though day to day they’ll be an integral member of multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams supporting a variety of internal and external projects and initiatives.
You can expect to work on projects ranging from product development, manufacturing, rapid prototyping and scenic and interactive installations, to name a few. Critical to the position is a thorough understanding of electronics principles and design in a variety of applications and use cases.

This is a full-time staff position located at BRDG’s studio in Philadelphia, PA.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage multiple simultaneous tasks and/or projects with competing deadlines and priorities
- Present clearly organized articulation of your process, approach to work, concepts and ideas to internal and external stakeholders of all levels
- Skilled working, collaborating and communicating in a creative, fast-paced team environment with ambiguity and complexities
- Read, comprehend and create electronics schematics, wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings
- Use basic electronics diagnostic tools to troubleshoot
- Prototype circuits on breadboards or protoboards
- Build cables / cable assemblies
- Perform self guided research
- Communicate effectively with vendors, suppliers and third parties and translate to project teams as needed
- Oversee tech assembly / fabrication teams of at least 5 people
- Periodic travel around the U.S., as required for installations, troubleshooting and maintenance
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics related Associate’s Degree or at least 2 years of professional experience in a related field
- Experience as a repair technician or draftsperson preferred
- Excellent problem solving ability
- Proficient soldering skills
- Proficiency in Fusion360 or similar CAD software
- Proficiency in KiCAD, Eagle, Altium, or similar ECAD software
- Working knowledge of embedded coding
Press Brake Operator
BRDG Studios is seeking manufacturing associates to join our team in 2022!
This individual will be responsible for processing stainless steel and carbon steel sheet metal parts on a CNC controlled hydraulic press break.
REQUIREMENTS
- On time and reliable; local to greater Philadelphia area.
- Job includes loading sheet metal flats into press brake, operating foot pedals to bend flats to shape.
- Requires lifting of parts over 35 lbs.
- Set up and process sheet metal parts per drawing
- Keep machine/tooling well organized and clean (routine maintenance)
- QC at the source/check your work before moving on to next routine
- Use computer software to perform transactions and capture labor to each job
- Compensation: $15 – $22 per hour based on experience
- PM and weekend shifts available (please stipulate on page 2 of application form)
